First Stop, Inc. has been helping families in the Huntsville area since 1988. Their goal is simple: To provide a safe, secure place for individuals and families to build a better future. First Stop, Inc. offers support in many areas, including job preparation and readiness, budgeting, credit counseling, housing assistance, and more. Additionally, it also provides free classes to help individuals and families learn how to manage their finances.  

Recent studies show there are about 6,000 kids in foster care in Alabama. Some only require a few days of foster care. Others might require foster care for an indefinite period. Here at Jon Peters Insurance, we believe every child deserves a stable home to feel safe and secure, which is why we are proud to support the Kids to Love Foundation in its efforts to create lifelong bonds by recruiting adoptive parents.

A retired school teacher in our community noticed this growing problem and decided to take action…and Free 2 Teach was born. Free 2 Teach provides free resources to teachers in Madison County's three public school systems. These resources are available to more than 3,800 full-time classroom teachers and their 53,000 students, improving children's educational experience and strengthening our community's future workforce. Free 2 Teach has hosted over 10,000 teacher visits at the Free 2 Teach store, and has thus far given away over $7.2 million worth of free resources to our teachers and their students!

Here at Jon Peters Insurance, we are a family-oriented organization that prioritizes homes and families in all our endeavors. That is why we are working towards building a better future for generations to come and with this aim we support Harris Home for Children.

Jon Peters Insurance Agency aims to alleviate families of any additional burdens during this difficult period. As a result, our organization will be supporting local organizations that help persons with Autism as part of our next Community Cause.

One of the most popular times to give back during the year is the holiday season. Oftentimes, organizations pop up for the sole purpose of serving during the holidays. Christmas Charities Year Round’s (CCYR) on the other hand, does essentially what its name suggests. They take the spirit of giving that is developed during the holiday season and make it last throughout the rest of the year. 

When an individual is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or disability, they are confronted with a wide range of new situations and lifestyle changes as a result of the sickness. Here at Jon Peters Insurance, we are dedicated to helping reduce the emotional stress, and financial hardships families face during these unprecedented times. This is why our agency is thrilled to be supporting Friends, Inc. in its mission to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with illness. 

In the past, our agency has been vocal about supporting the children of our community. We earnestly believe nourishing the youth is important and will ultimately benefit all members of our community. This is why we here at Jon Peters Insurance Agency support the work of Harris Home for Children, a private, non-profit agency providing full-time foster care services and crisis support for neglected adolescent children.

Though they work to help these children find their forever homes, they also ensure that those children who may not get adopted still have all they need to succeed in the future. Kids to Love helps them succeed through four educational programs, including career opportunities. Their simplest pledge is a backpack filled with school supplies. Each summer, they equip more than 5,000 foster children in Alabama and Tennessee for their new school year.

It is often said that children are the future, as they will look after the generations before them someday. Because this is true, it is necessary for communities to nourish, respect, and care for their children to the best of their ability in order to produce a better future for us all. This is why we here at Jon Peters Insurance Agency support the work of the National Children’s Advocacy Center, which exclusively focuses on preventing abuse & neglect before they even begin.

ALCD provides free childcare services for homeless families, children from battered homes, and for Veterans while seeking employment. They promote excellence in education and strive to develop morals and character skills in a diverse environment -- equipping them with the appropriate resources and abilities to thrive in their future. By providing safe, uplifting, family-friendly events in our community, they find new ways to serve those in need.
