How RideWell Works
Ridewell uses your smartphone to monitor driving activity and generate a score based on:
- Braking
- Speeding
- Phone Distractions

Q: What information does RideWell collect?
- A: The RideWell app collects data about your driving behavior and about the trips you drive. This includes the date, time and location of each trip, as well as instances of hard braking, speeding, and cellphone use while the vehicle is moving.
Q: What do I do if I’m having trouble with registration?

Q: Which settings are required to use the app on my phone?
- Location services are used to calculate driving behaviors such as braking,speeding and phone distractions, and may be used for rating purposes. For the app to work properly, Location Services must be enabled at all times. This setting can be found in the Settings app under Privacy>Location Services.
Q: When do I learn about my sign-up discount?
- A: Prior to the date of your policy renewal, you will receive updated policy documents with notice of the new premium and credits for the next policy period.
Q: How does the app know if I’m driving?
- A: The RideWell mobile app detects movement of a certain speed and distance to determine when a trip starts. No action is necessary on the part of the user.
Q: Will my rates increase if I have a low score?
- A: No, your rates will not increase based due to a low driving score. You can continue to use RideWell to improve your score to earn a discount.
Important Information about RideWell:
The sign-up discount will be prorated based on the number of drivers listed on your policy who complete the 91-day driving period and receive a score.
- Additional RideWell savings will be applied at policy renewal based on driving activity of each driver.
- You may opt out and remove the RideWell app from your phone at any time, but the sign-up discount will be removed if you haven’t driven for 91 days and receive a driving score.

- RideWell requires a GPS=enabled smartphone with a gyroscope and accelerometer to be eligible.
